Mmmm...cozy

It's chilly out and time for soup and baking!
Mmmm sugar cookies.

1/3 cup butter
1/3 cup shortening
1 cup sugar
1 tsp. baking powder
1 egg
1 tsp. vanilla
2 cups organic flour

These guys were so good, but not sweet enough so I changed it to 1 cup sugar instead of 3/4. I patted out the dough (i only collect rolling pins, i hate using them) and used my vintage cookie cutters, but the folded cookies I made with the left over dough were even better! Look how cute...awww.

I love my Better Homes and Gardens Cookbook but this recipe isn't in it, it's way too easy..

Easy Everything Soup (p.s. I never measure)

1 lb. ground turkey, chicken or beef
1 lg. yellow onion
1 pkg. Ranch dressing mix
1/4-1/2 pkg. taco seasoning
1 can diced organic tomatoes (juice and all)
1 can organic tomato sauce
1 can allen's italian green beans
1 cup frozen mixed veggies (or whatever you have canned or frozen, anything goes)
3-4 cups water (more depending on how thick you like it)
2 cups pasta or potatoes (add potatoes early, pasta towards end of cooking time)

Cook onion in 1 tbsp butter until translucent , add ground meat, cook until brown, add in dressing mix, taco seasoning, tomato sauce, diced tomotoes, green beans, veggies and water. heat to boiling, simmer 15-20 mins. serve with corn bread. makes 2-3 meals, great left overs.
